spokendocs is a voice-to-document app for Mac. It records a conversation, transcribes it on your own machine and writes it into a document template you defined yourself.
Where does my audio go?
Nowhere. Recording, transcription and document generation all run on your Mac. There is no account to create and no server to upload to. If you connect an AI provider of your own, it receives the transcript, never the audio. That is off until you configure it.
Which documents can it produce?
Anything you can describe as a template: intake notes, session notes, interview write-ups, minutes. Finished documents export as Markdown.
How does a template work?
A template is a set of named sections, and each section carries its own instruction for what belongs there.
Does it work offline?
After a one-time model download, recording, transcription and generation need no network. Airplane mode changes nothing about what the app can do.
What does the app connect to?
The speech and language models download once from Hugging Face. An update check asks our release feed whether a newer version exists, and an update downloads only if you accept it. A Pro licence is activated, rechecked about once a day and deactivated with Lemon Squeezy, using the licence key and your Mac's host name and nothing from your notes. Anonymous usage statistics are off unless you switch them on. An AI provider of your own receives the transcript only once you configure one. Each connection in detail
